Soundskool Choirs: Building Community Through Music
At Soundskool, we believe music is more than just notes and rhythms; it is a bridge that connects people, creates joy, and builds stronger communities.
Our Soundskool Choir Program, offered at both our Phnom Penh (BKK1) and Siem Reap campuses, is one initiative that reflects our efforts in this belief.
A Free Program Open to Everyone
The Soundskool Choirs are part of our CSR efforts, designed to make music accessible beyond our classrooms. The program is completely free and open to anyone aged 16 and above, whether or not they are Soundskool students.
No prior experience is required; only the willingness to sing, connect, and share in the joy of music!
What Participants Experience
Every week, our choir members gather to:
- Develop vocal techniques and breathing skills
- Practice ensemble singing and harmonization
- Explore a wide repertoire, from Pop and Gospel to Christmas and World Music
- Experience the thrill of performing together as a group
Each session is led by our passionate teachers, who guide singers of all levels in creating a welcoming, encouraging, and uplifting atmosphere.
Phnom Penh & Siem Reap Choirs
- Phnom Penh (BKK1): Our first choir group, where members have built strong bonds through music and regular performances. The choir is led by teacher Marie scheduled every Friday from 6 to 7 PM.
- Siem Reap: Launched last study term, our Siem Reap choir brings the same spirit of connection to the cultural heart of Cambodia, led by teacher Robert every Tuesday from 5 to 6 PM.
Music, Connection, and Community
The choirs have quickly become more than singing groups; they are spaces where friendships are formed, confidence grows, and the power of collective music-making shines through.
By offering this program, we aim to bring people together across generations and backgrounds, reinforcing Soundskool’s belief that music is an integral part of our lives.
