Introducing Miss Evie Evans
Here at SoundsKool we are privileged to have many highly skilled and experienced teachers from Cambodia and all around the world. Overseeing this multi-talented, multi-national bunch, is our School Programmes Coordinator, who we think it's time you met- Evie Evans.
Evie joined the SoundsKool team over one year ago now and has been integral to the development of the now hugely popular Rockschool programmes we currently offer our most promising students.
Rockschool's own website explains their back story, in brief.
"From a small office in West London in 1991, RSL (Rockschool Ltd) had a dream to change the landscape of formal music education, and sought to become the first viable alternative to the traditional offerings available in Britain at the time".
Evie has a passion for music and music education, in particular. She has championed the participation of our students in these exciting, fresh programmes, which are so well suited to even the youngest of learners. The use of contemporary, internationally reknowned music sees our students much more engaged in lessons and keen to practice, once they get home. Rockschool at SoundsKool continues to inspire and give confidence to the next generation of Cambodian musicians. This is a subject which is very dear to Evie's heart.
In talking about the opening of the new SoundsKool music school & store in Toul Tom Poung, she was quoted as saying,
"I love the fact that music education is growing in Cambodia and that through SoundsKool, I can be involved in helping the next generation of artists. I’m really looking forward to introduce our new group programmes to all the Mums, Dads and children".

Evie has an interesting back story, too...
Born in a small town in western Germany, to two English parents, she moved around the UK a great deal as a child, due to her Father being in the Royal Air Force. She considers Nottingham, in England, as her hometown, where she spent her formative years. However, for the last three years, she has called Phnom Penh home and plans to do so for the forseeable future. She loves Khmer culture, food and language- almost as much as she loves teaching!
So, why not contact SoundsKool today to take the first steps in yours, or your children's musical education?
