Soundskool The Piano Awards 2024

We are excited to announce the return of The Piano Awards Competition 2024, a competition rewarding students for their solo piano performance skills.

Performance Details:

• Age Categories: 5-8, 9-12, 13+
• Performance Length: Minimum 1 minute
• Format: Solo performances only (no backing tracks, no duets with teachers)
• Genre: Classical, film, and jazz music
• Introduction: Students must introduce their name and the song title at the beginning of their performance

Note: Only piano solos are eligible for this competition. Performances with backing tracks should join the Soundskool Superstars instead.

First Round: Video Submission

Submission Process

Eligible students can be entered directly by their teachers. Teachers will submit videos through the provided form.

Age Categories

Divided into three age categories, ensuring fair competition for all:

• 5-8 years old
• 9-12 years old
• 13+ years old

Recording Options

Videos can be recorded by teachers, staff, or students themselves at home. The video must showcase students' continuous performances with no editing permitted.

Assessment

All videos will be assessed by Music Program Coordinators, and the list of participants selected for the final round will be published on the 2nd of June on our Telegram Channel.

Submission Deadline

Video submissions are open from the day of the announcement until the end of May.

Final Round: Live Performance

Live Performance

Candidates selected from the first round will perform live in front of judges and parents during an open event at our Soundskool branch in Phnom Penh on the 16th of June.

Rewards

Three winners will be selected, one from each age category, receiving award cups. Additionally, finalists will receive certificates of participation to commemorate their achievements.

Important Dates

• Video submission deadline: 31st May 2024
• Finalist announcement for the final round: 2nd June 2024
• Final round and the award ceremony: 16th June 2024
